Christ - A Matter of Truth

Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!

What you cola you drink, that is a matter of taste. Some people are die hard Coca Cola fans, others proudly proclaim themselves a part of the Pepsi generation.

But Christianity isn't like that. It's a matter of Truth.

Our world is turbulent. Many things constantly recreate themselves. Even 'churches' change to fit the fashionable times, trying to reflect the culture, rather than reflect the Kingdom.

Then there is Orthodoxy. The word orthodox means "true teaching."

The Orthodox Church. If you are looking for a Church that is orthodox in worship, orthodox in doctrine, and orthodox in morals - you are probably looking for the Orthodox Church.

Ever wonder what the early Church was really like? Worship in the Orthodox Church is based on the worship of God in the book of Revelation, not on the recommendations of some liturgical 'expert' or the latest gleanings of surveys or mega-churches. Our newest service is 1,300 years old - that's 800 years older than the Protestant Reformation!

Where does one find truth? Here are the words of St. Paul on the matter;

"If I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the Truth." (1 Timothy 3:15)

Holy Assumption Church is probably not like any Church you've ever been to. This is your journey. God is leading you. He led you here to this page. Look closer.

Aren't you tired of wondering what He wants in your life?

That journey starts with finding out Who God really is, what He really wants, and how to really do that. Some of our parishioners are Malone College graduates. Ask them.

Go ahead. You will meet them at the Church Rush, and at Holy Assumption, as missionaries, seminarians, mothers, fathers, professors, professionals, and more. Some of them are now clergy - priests and deacons, serving Christ and His Church.

START BY SEEING WHAT WORSHIP REALLY IS:  Vespers is every Saturday evening at 5 pm. It's a short service, about 3/4 of an hour long, in preparation for the Resurrection the next day. Sunday morning worship is at 10 am.

And there's much, much more...come and see for yourself.
